Joel Leivick is the Robert and Ruth Halperin Professor in Photography (emeritus) in the Department of Art & Art History at Stanford University. Since the 1980s, his longtime photography involvement has been with the quarry mines of northern Italy towns, with an emphasis on the town of Carrara.
