Please reference the COVID-19 Resources page for all the latest SRWC news and information as it relates to COVID-19.

You’re also encouraged to regularly visit for all university updates and information and Cardinal at Work's workplace resources and FAQs page.

Returning to campus

  • All employees are required to complete an online training course, “COVID-19 Hygiene Best Practices,” before returning to work on campus, starting with those who are currently working onsite.
  • Please register for the course as soon as practicable and notify your supervisor of completion.
  • (Updated 5/27/20) All employees are also required to report their health status each day that they are scheduled to be onsite using the new Stanford-developed tool called Health Check.

Working on campus

  • San Mateo County has issued a public health emergency order requiring the use of face coverings at your workplace. This means that if you’re in the building, you must cover your face at all times. Read the complete guidelines.

  • In compliance with shelter-in-place orders issued for the Bay Area and now for the entire state, employees who can do their work from home should do so.

  • If you must take home portable office furniture and equipment (other than attached large monitor), document which items have been temporarily taken, in what condition and get approval in writing (email) from your manager.  Stanford has created guidelines for staff regarding the temporary movement of office equipment.

  • For those essential staff who will still be on campus, your facilities and maintenance needs will continue to be met and the enhanced cleaning frequency is still in place.

  • Fridges will continue to be cleaned at the end of the month; personal items and containers won’t be tossed out—only rotten produce.

  • Access during this time to Cardinal, University, Discovery and Academy Halls and Barron Parking Garage will only be by badging in at the card readers.

  • Access to the elevators will also only be by badging in.

  • Call (650) 723-SRWC if you have a problem entering with your Stanford ID card.

  • The lobby ambassadors are not on campus; if you’re hosting visitors, you must escort them into and out of your building, and secure the door.

Parking and Transportation

  • Until further notice, parking permits are not required to park in any SRWC surface lots and Barron Parking Garage.

  • Parking restrictions in special zones, such as disabled parking, red zones, fire lanes and special-permit-only spaces, will continue to be enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • (Updated 6/10/20) Minor schedule changes will be implemented on Line RWC Marguerite shuttle service to sync with Caltrain’s latest timetable. Read more.

  • Due to Caltrain reducing service, the Midpoint  Caltrain shuttle schedule has been temporarily adjusted to accommodate the changes effective 3/30.

  • The latest Transportation updtaes will be posted on Stanford Transportation's COVID-19 updates page.
