Get ready to build, test, and shake!
Celebrate SRWC Safety Month 2026 and the Great ShakeOut with an earthquake-ready LEGO building challenge! Gather a team of up to five people, pick up 1,500 LEGO building bricks, and put your engineering skills to the test. You'll have three weeks to design and construct a creative, seismically sound building.
Important dates:
- September 14 — Pick up your kits from Cardinal Hall lobby.
- October 2 — Submit your completed structure to the Cardinal Hall lobby desk by end of day.
- October 5–9 — Buildings on display in the Dining Pavilion for SRWC colleagues to admire and vote on.
- October 15 — Winners announced on the day of the Great ShakeOut!
Two ways to win:
- Most Seismically Safe Build — selected by a member of Stanford's Seismic Committee
- Best Building — selected by SRWC colleague vote
Each member of both winning teams receives a three-day emergency kit!
Registration is now closed. All entries will be on display in the Cardinal Hall Dining Pavilion between October 5 and October 9. Cheer on your colleagues by voting for your favorite building!
