When people say they’re not creative, they’re usually referring to artistic skills such as painting or drawing. While it’s true that not everyone will be a professional artist, all of us have the ability to create and find joy in our creative efforts. There is increasing evidence-based research indicating that creative expression and positive psychology practices can be healing and beneficial for our mental and spiritual health.

In this noontime webinar, you will explore how to support and sustain your mental health and spiritual unfolding through expressive art. You will learn daily practices that can help you connect or re-connect with the naturally curious, creative, and wise parts of yourself that may have become lost in the business of daily life.

You will also participate in a guided practice that combines a blend of positive psychology, behavioral science, expressive art, ritual, and energy work. You will learn which parts of the brain is engaged at each step and what makes the overall exercise beneficial, giving you a deeper understanding of how powerful and integrative these kinds of expressive tools can be in supporting your well-being and bringing greater meaning and fulfillment to your life.

Instructor: Kathleen Miller, MA, has worked for over 25 years as a behavioral scientist, therapeutic expressive art coach, and multidisciplinary artist, drawing wisdom and inspiration from psychology, anthropology, somatic therapies, expressive art, and spiritual practices to support and sustain well-being.
