Face covering guidelines in latest order from San Mateo County

San Mateo County has issued a public health emergency order requiring the use of face coverings while at your workplace. This applies to all members of the public and those working at Stanford Redwood City, inclusive of contractors and vendors. This means that if you’re in the building, you must cover your face at all times, unless when in a private, enclosed office. This also applies if you're in a Commute.org or Marguerite shuttle.

The purpose of this Order is so that you mitigate the inadvertent spread of the virus. This Order is in accordance with state and county guidelines requiring sheltering in place, frequent hand washing and physical distancing of at least six feet.

Employees must wear face coverings (which can be as simple as bandanas) if they are working in a building. This applies even if other individuals are present or not, regardless if they are six feet apart.

The Order becomes effective starting Wednesday, April 22. Signage will be posted on campus as a reminder.

Further guidelines on the order can be found on Health Alerts.
