Summer is here, and with it a slew of improvements undertaken by our Facilities team to make the campus better and safer. Here are a few projects in the pipeline over the next few months and their impact on SRWC occupants.
Anti-slip grip on interior stairs
Medallion and SRWC Operations will add a new anti-slip grit floor finish on the interior Terrazzo stone stairs of all buildings except RecWell.
Impact: Provide more traction when climbing up or down, especially in the rainy season. Staircase will be closed during installation.
Barron Garage flood prevention
The sidewalk near the Barron Road entrance into the garage will be raised to act as a barrier to prevent water from entering the garage in extreme weather.
Impact: This protects the garage from flooding in inclement weather. Garage entrance may be closed during construction.
Bollard installation at Pine Cone
Bollards will be installed on the corner of Bay and Barron to ensure the safety of Pine Cone Children's Center's occupants.
Impact: Increased protection from traffic and cars.
