Return to on-site work

Stanford Redwood City saw the return of on-site work for some staff in June as we began piloting flexible work models. The SRWC Operations team and the Flexible Work Committee hopes some of the outcomes of these pilots introduce new ways of working and help establish standard operating procedures in our transition to a hybrid work environment.

In order to better serve on-site employees, the SRWC Operations team has generated a quick, pulse survey to gather feedback, comments or ideas that you’d like to share.

As a reminder to employees already on-site, and to help prepare others still to come, here are some key updates to COVID safety protocols as of June 26:

  • The COVID-19 Hygiene Best Practices course must be taken before your first time back on-site.
  • The vaccination status question on Health Check has been voluntary but now requires a response, including manufacturer and vaccination dates, from employees coming on-site.
  • Employees who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 are no longer required to wear face coverings and no longer need to follow distancing rules in most workplace settings. However, face coverings are still required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, in certain locations such as crowded events where physical distancing is difficult, all healthcare facilities, Marguerite shuttles and other university vehicles occupied by more than one person, and public transportation (e.g. Caltrain).
  • For those who are not fully vaccinated or decline to state their status on Health Check, face coverings and physical distancing continue to be required in most work settings.
  • Density limitations and physical distancing are no longer required for spaces including administrative, academic and research facilities.
  • Please keep in mind that many people in our community, even those who are vaccinated, may choose to continue wearing face coverings. Some may be taking extra precautions for family members at home, while others may be more comfortable adjusting gradually. We should expect and respect these sorts of decisions.
  • No group or unit should create vaccination requirements separate from or more restrictive than university requirements. Individuals should not be asking peers or employees whether they have been vaccinated.
