SRWC evacuation drill set for Sept. 22

Stanford Redwood City will conduct an evacuation drill of all buildings on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. This event is designed to test several aspects of our emergency preparedness plan and to demonstrate safety awareness. The exercise will take less than 30 minutes.

We ask for your full cooperation throughout the drill:

  • Gather your personal items and evacuate when the fire alarms go off.
  • Floor Coordinators will do a sweep of the floor to confirm everyone evacuates.
  • Floor Coordinators will also provide assistance to individuals with limited mobility.
  • The Lobby Ambassadors will be at the Emergency Assembly Points (EAP) outside to provide updates and give the “All Clear” to re-enter the building.
  • During the drill, you’ll receive a test emergency notification on your mobile device. Please respond to the poll asking for your status even if you are working from home the day of the drill.
  • You may only re-enter the campus buildings once given the “All Clear.”

We recognize the drill may interrupt your schedule and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you’re hosting visitors, inform them beforehand of the scheduled drill and guide them to the EAP.

Here are a few actions to take in preparation for the drill:
