SRWC implements limited access areas to maintain workplace health and safety

In compliance with public health requirements for institutions of higher education, issued by the State of California to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, Stanford Redwood City is temporarily limiting external community member access to outdoor pavilions adjacent to office buildings and the Wellness Center. Similar to the campus zones implemented on the main campus, SRWC’s campus access areas are designed to maintain a safer and healthier workplace, while still maintaining public access to the portions of the campus most suitable for visitors. Reducing campus density to support physical distancing enables SRWC to gradually and more safely increase campus operations.

Signage has been installed throughout the campus marking its boundaries as well as additional signage at the limited access area entry points. In line with the current policy regarding building entry, access is limited to approved staff, faculty, postdocs and students carrying their Stanford IDs, as well as vendors providing essential deliveries and maintenance. All other visitors are prohibited from entering limited access areas.

What you need to know

To help support this health and safety effort, please have your Stanford ID readily accessible or visible when entering the campus access areas, even if you’re just coming to campus to pick up or drop off your self-administered COVID-19 test kits or to go to the gym.

Comparable to the campus zones on the main campus, the focus will be on educating visitors about this new policy, rather than active enforcement. As a member of our community, displaying your Stanford ID and following campus access area protocols is an individual’s personal responsibility.

Thank you for contributing toward a safer and healthier Stanford Redwood City campus.
