SRWC partners with San Mateo County to expand COVID-19 testing

Stanford Redwood City is expanding its support for San Mateo County’s COVID-19 testing program by continuing to provide a mobile testing site on campus and scheduling additional testing dates.

Testing will be conducted from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day on Oct. 1, 2, 22, 23, 29 and 30. As turnaround times for test results have shortened, the expected number of tests administered per day will also be doubling from 500 to 1,000.

On these dates, SRWC essential staff will need to park in the lot next to Cardinal Hall on Broadway or in Barron Parking Garage. Parking in the Bay Road surface lot will be reserved for county testing only. Otherwise, testing will not impact essential staff working on campus.

Stanford is not administering the tests. The targeted population for the San Mateo mobile testing site are the underserved and uninsured in Redwood City and surrounding communities. Stanford employees, whether on campus or residing nearby, are discouraged from signing up.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can alternatively sign up for Stanford’s own COVID-19 surveillance testing program, which includes a collection site at SRWC that’s free and open to all Stanford faculty, staff and postdocs, irrespective of work location.
