Summer Fun Social and Cardinal Walk recap

To celebrate the return of some groups to on-site work at Stanford Redwood City, SRWC Campus Services hosted live music and snacks at Stanford Square on Wednesday, July 28. It was an opportunity for staff to hang out with colleagues they hadn't seen in person in more than a year. In addition, the event was a partnership with the School of Medicine in preparation for the We are Stanford: A Festival of Reflection and Renewal (Sept. 30 - Oct. 10); staff painted 600 flowers to represent more than 600,000 lives lost to COVID-19. There were also stumps that said "apart" and tree sculptures that said "together" to signify being apart during the pandemic and now as we come back together. Stay tuned for a dedication ceremony with Dean Minor and other guests to commemorate the lives lost.

Also, the SRWC community came together for in-person activities at this year's Cardinal Walk. In-person activities included:

  • Fun virtual fitness demo
  • Live phot streaming
  • Music
  • Cool-down period
  • Snacks and refreshment
  • 1.1-mile walking tour starting at Stanford Square
